Motorway-Stickers
Motorways are toll roads in Austria. Stickers are
available at border crossings, petrol stations, post offices,
Tobacconists, your automobile club or the Lech Zürs tourism.

Please note on your arrival, that the route Lech - Warth during the winter months is locked due to avalance danger. Arrival through the Lechtal or the Bregenzerwald is therefore not recommended!

Winter equipment recommended:
Snow on the roadway can be expected; due to the Austrian snow tires mandatory by law from 1st November to 15th April (at wintry conditions) we recommend you to drive with snow tires. But also snow chains can be helpful as the weather or snow conditions can change very fast in the Alps.
Cars need snow tires, trucks snow chains:
There is a high probability that you drive on a snowy roadway; therefore the police prescribes snow tires for cars up to 3.5 tons of total weight and snow chains for all other vehicles from 3.5 tons and more (trucks, buses, ...).
All vehicles need snow chains except cars with 4-wheel-drive uphill:
Due to the ammount of snow on the roadway the police prescribes snow chains for all vehicles. But cars up to 3.5 tons with 4-Wheel-Drive going uphill just need snow tires. For the drive downhill also cars with 4-Wheel-Drive need snow chains as 4WD does not assist at braking.
Closed:
The affected part of the road is closed by the police / avalanche commission and it is not allowed / possible to drive / use that road.
We recommend especially on Saturdays during the season to chose your arrival such that
the sections Feldkirch-Lech and/or Imst-Lech can be used before 9.30 or after 14.00 o'clock.
On Leaving the time between 10.30 and 15.00 o'clock is "congestion-prone".
