Following last year’s successful premiere, this classic car rally will again this year attract vintage car lovers to the Arlberg, which, since last summer, has been viewed as a true El Dorado for motor sports aficionados. Due to its location in the midst of the Lechtal Alps, Lech Zürs am Arlberg is the perfect starting point for vintage car rides. Challenging passes that wind up to almost 2,000 metres above sea level, adventurous trails along steep cliffs, open-sided tunnels carved out of the rockface and winding descents combine with top hotels and restaurants to excite and delight vintage car lovers again this year.

Numerous gastronomy awards, the highest density of Gault Millau toque award-winning restaurants in the world, an ambience where the emphasis is on hospitality and enjoyment, the gourmet series LöffelWeise: all of this is offered in the idyllic mountain village, Lech am Arlberg, which was voted “World gourmet village” by Falstaff and Vöslauer in 2008 and, thanks to its outstanding gastronomy, attracts gourmets from around the world to experience new heights of culinary indulgence at 1,450 meters above sea level and higher.

According to the motto “keep what’s good, start something new”, Lech Zürs has been establishing itself as a summer meeting place for the running scene. With the Lech high altitude running park and two top-class competitions, the alpine village at 1,450 meters above sea level provides the best conditions for training and competitions. Events such as the 14th Lech Peaks Triathlon or the 9th Lech Altitude Half-Marathon are fixed dates in the diaries of athletes from around the world.

A phytosociological report commissioned by the Lech ski lifts association revealed that flora and fauna are not damaged by early use of artificial snow and that, on the contrary, a consistent snow cover provides protection for pastures, which display a biodiverse range of flowers in the summer.

Lech Zürs am Arlberg – “Whilst our traditional Walser village hasn’t sacrificed any of its original character, guests visiting Lech Zürs am Arlberg, will find everything the modern world has to offer,” Tourism Director Hermann Fercher describes the interplay of genuine tradition and progressive hospitality in the Arlberg community located at 1,450 metres above sea level. Last summer, over 30,000 guests (with almost 120,000 overnight stays) heeded the call of the village which has made a name for itself worldwide as a winter sports paradise.
