With the "Arlberg Lounge", the renowned ski resort will make an appearance during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2015 in Vail/Beaver Creek − it will be a meeting point for athletes, ski teams, officials, media, business, friends, and enthusiasts.

Lech Zürs am Arlberg, 27. Januar 15 −  From February 2nd to the 15th of 2015, the entire world of skiing enthusiasts will have their eyes on Colorado − that's when the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships are being held in Vail/Beaver Creek.  Lech Zürs am Arlberg has been fostering an intensive community partnership with the fashionable ve-nue of the American World Ski Championships for the past 13 years, crowning the friendly relationship by being present during what is certainly the most important sporting event this winter. Lech Zürs and Vorarlberg offer a hearty welcome to visitors of their "Arlberg Lounge", which is intended to be a central meeting place for athletes, friends, enthusiasts, and celebrities.

For Hermann Fercher, Director of Tourism for Lech Zürs, the community partnership and the World Ski Championships in Beaver Creek are an ideal opportunity for winter sports enthusi-asts to enjoy an exciting stay in Lech Zürs and Vorarlberg.  "We want to use the large media presence to put ourselves in the spotlight.  With the Arlberg lounge, we are displaying our hos-pitality as well as our level of excellence, whether with regard to winter sports or even culinary delights and well-being," says the ambitious tourism expert.  The "Arlberg Lounge" is not a glorified trade fair booth, of course, but a modern dining lounge with a traditional "cosy alpine" wooden design and architecture.  There is room in this "cottage" for 120 lounge visitors to be welcomed with culinary offerings from regional Vorarlberg cuisine.  Bacon, bread, Lech festi-val wine, or fine liquors offer a little taste of what's to come on a holiday at the Arlberg and in Vorarlberg.

Picturesque villages, modern ski resorts, plenty of natural snow, and imaginative opportunities are hallmarks of the Western Austrian state.  In all winter sports regions, attentive hosts create a sophisticated atmosphere.  The renowned cuisine is strongly influenced by the local region.  The modern wood architecture is surprising.

Vorarlberg Tourism, the Arlberg Ski Club, and Lech Zürs Tourism – the three collective hosts and patrons of the Arlberg Lounge – will be on-site with numerous local celebrities, such as Olympic champion Patrick Ortlieb, in order to provide the live audience with even more ser-vice.  Here, successful skiers from numerous countries can meet daily with well-known per-sonalities from the social scene, making for a familiar and cordial Austrian get-together.

While Vail/Beaver Creek is already the host for the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Champions-hips, Lech Zürs am Arlberg and St. Anton are applying to host the competitions in 2021.

Lech Zürs am Arlberg and Beaver Creek, the two top winter sports destinations, demonst-rated their close relationship with an unusual event last winter.  Part of a new trail, the women's downhill "Raptor", has been christened with the name "Lech Zürs Course". The trail section also reflects the modern and diverse am Arlberg ski area, which has been distinguis-hed once again as one of the best in the world.

Four-leaf friendship alliance: Sister Resort

Beaver Creek

Under the name "Sister Resort", Lech Zürs am Arlberg is cultivating yet another intimate rela-tionship with Beaver Creek.  The "Sister Resort" alliance was created through the initiative of Lech Zürs am Arlberg during the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano/Japan, during which a partnership with Hakuba Happo was established. The partnership with Kampen/Sylt followed in 2000, joined one year later by Beaver Creek.
